Community-Based Research Initiative

The Center for Regional Studies (CRS) in partnership with the College of Arts & Sciences announces a community-based research initiative.  This initiative will financially support community-based research projects for one fiscal year. Evaluations of proposals will be made by a review committee using a detailed rubric. The award is dependent upon the availability of funds each year.

CRS invites project proposals engaging with a New Mexico or Southwest community that works to develop or assist with practical and real-life solutions to the challenges facing peoples in the twenty-first century.  The project should be co-directed by a faculty member from a department or program in the College of Arts & Sciences along with a community-based partner or partners.

Eligibility Criteria

All UNM active faculty in the College of Arts & Sciences including full, associate, and assistant professor ranks are eligible to apply.  Faculty applicants must hold tenure-stream or tenured full-time appointments in a UNM College of Arts & Sciences academic department or academic program. The community-based research project must align with CRS's mission
