The University Libraries Center for Southwest Research and Special Collections is celebrating American Archives Month in October with an exhibition in the Frank Waters Room of Zimmerman Library,  author reception and brown bag series. The exhibition “Researching the Southwest: Recent Works using the Collections of the Center for Southwest Research and Special Collections” showcases the works of authors of recently produced Southwestern books, articles, dissertations, video documentaries and more that utilized CSWR archives in their research. Over 50 works are on display including those by John Kessell, Richard Melzer, Joseph P. Sanchez, Christopher Wilson, Miguel Gandert, Enrique Lamadrid, Anna Nogar, José Rivera, Lucinda Lucero Sachs, David Correia, Alyosha Goldstein, Richard Flint, Shirley Cushing Flint, Samuel Truett, Cheryl Foote, William Dunmire, and David Holtby. These researchers have produced works in fields as diverse as history, art, music, architecture, community planning, literature, biology, American studies, Native American studies, Chicano/Hispano studies, and African American studies. Meet the authors and learn about ways to share your own work as we celebrate archives month in New Mexico.

A reception for the authors will be held Monday, October 21, 5:30 - 7:00 pm in the Frank Waters Room in Zimmerman Library
